German version of the application about the Treblinka II Extermination Camp

The “Memory of Treblinka” Foundation and the Janusz Korczak school in Halle, Germany, in cooperation with the Jewish Historical Institute, prepared a German version of the application about Treblinka II Extermination Camp. The Treblinka II Extermination Camp audio guide is now available in Polish, English, Hebrew and German.

Audio guide – educational path of the Treblinka II Extermination Camp is available on smartphones (iOS and Android systems). It can be downloaded for free on Google Play or AppStore. The history of the Treblinka camp and the testimonies of selected people are presented in 15 points. The map of the path is available both on the paper map and on the application’s map. An audio starts automatically when a user approaches the point connected to it. The application leads the user along the path that people murdered in Treblinka were led to deaths. The content of each point consists of two elements: historical information (including the creation of the Treblinka I and Treblinka II camps, the layout of the camp, perpetrators, prisoners, the mechanism of the Holocaust and the revolt on August 2, 1943) and the witnesses’ testimonies (selected quotations from accounts and memories). The path is not only created to provide basic information, but also to show the perspective of people murdered in Treblinka, or those who survived.

The audio guide in German was created thanks to the grant from the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation, which was also supported by funding from the Rotary Clubs: Rotary Warsaw City, Berlin Mickiewicz, Warsaw Goethe, District 2490 Israel. Special thanks go to Mr. Martin Bredol, who, in addition to translating the texts into German, supported the creation of the path at all stages.
