On September 12th, the promotion of the album “Treblinka – Memorial Site” took place at the Municipal Cultural Center in Siedlce. During the event, the photographer Piotr Tołwiński emphasized that he wanted to convey to the audience the emotions associated with this tragic place. It was important to him that many of the photographs depict Treblinka in a winter setting. The album contains nearly 100 contemporary, mostly black-and-white photographs. They are grouped into six chapters: Railway Station, Extermination Camp, Black Road, Labour Camp, Gravel Pit, and Execution Site. During the event, Piotr Tołwiński received the “Meritorious for the Treblinka Museum” Medal for promoting the Treblinka Memorial Site through artistic means. An exhibition of his photographs was held at the Fokus gallery.
