On 24–25 March, the International Treblinka Council convened for its meeting. On 24 March, members of the Council visited the Treblinka Museum. This marked the first day of proceedings, which began with a visit to the commemorative site of the former railway station in the village of Treblinka – a symbolic location associated with the transports of Jews sent to the extermination camp.
The Council members then proceeded to the site of the new exhibition and education building currently under construction, where they were presented with the progress of the works and the concept of the future exhibition.
During the further part of the visit, the delegation toured the area of the former Treblinka II Extermination Camp. The Council members also visited the site of the former Treblinka I Labour Camp, as well as the Execution Site, learning about the history of the prisoners and the realities of how both camps operated.
On the second day of the meeting, 25 March, the Council participants met at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritag of Poland.
