Today, Maria Pisarek – our colleague and long-time employee of the Treblinka Museum – is retiring after many years of dedicated service. For 40 years, she shared the story of the Treblinka Memorial Site with great commitment and passion. She participated in meetings with direct witnesses of the events that took place in Treblinka. For many years, Maria was not only a guide, but above all, a witness of memory and a bridge between the past and the present. She willingly shared her knowledge and experience with newly hired museum employees, offering them help and support. In recognition of her exceptional dedication and assistance in fulfilling the statutory mission of the Treblinka Museum, Maria Pisarek has been awarded the “Meritorious for the Treblinka Museum” medal. Today, we wish to express our heartfelt thanks for all these years.
