Visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia

On May 8, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, Mr. Timčo Mucunski, and the Ambassador of North Macedonia, H.E. Mr. Jasmin Kahil, visited the Treblinka Museum. The guests were welcomed by the museum staff, headed by the Director, Dr. Edward Kopówka. The delegation toured the museum exhibition and the grounds of the former Treblinka Extermination Camp. During the visit, flowers were laid at the stone bearing the inscription “Macedonia,” in tribute to the Jewish victims murdered at this site.

Between March and April 1943, 7,144 Macedonian Jews were deported to the Treblinka Extermination Camp. None of them survived.
