On November 23rd, an agreement was signed for the implementation of the investment project titled “Construction of the Exhibition and Educational Facility.” The expected completion date for the construction of the new museum building is in 2025, and it will be situated adjacent to the existing exhibition building of the Treblinka Museum.
The financing for this investment sourced from targeted grants allocated by the Mazovian Voivodeship Self-Government’s budget and from funds provided by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage from the national budget.
The signing ceremony was attended by prominent individuals, including Ms. Elżbieta Lanc, a Member of the Board of the Mazovian Voivodeship, and Mr. Tomasz Rosłanek, Deputy Director of the Department of Ownership Supervision and Investments at the Marshal’s Office of the Mazovian Voivodeship. Representing REMBUD Sp. z.o.o. from Przasnysz, the company responsible for the construction works, were Mr. Robert Fronczek, President, Mr. Grzegorz Dęby, Vice President, Mr. Kamil Mażul, Director of Bidding, and Mr. Maciej Tarnowski, Operations Director. Additionally, representatives from Bujnowski Architekci Sp. z.o.o., the authors of the project documentation, were in attendance, including Mr. Piotr Bujnowski and Ms. Zuzanna Pomaska-Oszczyk. The Treblinka Museum was represented by Dr. Edward Kopówka, Director, Iwona Wasilewska, Deputy Director for Administrative and Economic Affairs, and Agnieszka Kur, Chief Accountant.
The construction of the new building will enable the fulfillment of the Museum’s primary statutory objectives, which include preserving the history of Treblinka II Extermination Camp and Treblinka I Labour Camp. This, in turn, will support the advancement of historical education and collaboration with a broader audience.
