The event was organized by the Parish of St. Holy Trinity and St. Anna in Prosty\u0144 together with the Treblinka Museum. The Nazi German Extermination and Forced Labour camp (1941-1944).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The participants met at the Gravel Pit (the place of slave labour of Treblinka I prisoners). Afterwards, the Way of the Cross began, which was led by Fr. J\u00f3zef Poskrobko, parish priest in Prosty\u0144. Each of the 14 stations of the Cross was developed on the basis of the accounts and memories of the prisoners of the Penal Labour Camp in Treblinka. Each station corresponds to personal experiences and emotions and it is a combination of worship, history and memory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The prayer ended at the symbolic monuments commemorating the Poles, Jews, Roma and Sinti murdered in the camp. Then, the Director of the Treblinka Museum, Dr. Edward Kop\u00f3wka and Fr. Rector J\u00f3zef Poskrobko, welcomed the guests. Then, a field Holy Mass was celebrated. This year, Fr. Bishop Piotr Sawczuk spoke about the good use of talents by man. Everyone is obligated to build peace, love and harmony. It is especially necessary to strive for peace in modern times when there is a war going on abroad. The Bible teaches us justice and peace, which are important values \u200b\u200bthat a person should live on a daily basis.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As every year, the ceremony was attended by descendants of former prisoners of the Treblinka I Labour Camp.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Representatives of local and state authorities were also present<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Dariusz Tomczak from the delegation of the Marshal&#8217;s Office of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, on behalf Adam Struzik, Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship.<\/li>\n<li>Marcin Grochowski, Head of the Regional Office of the Voivodship Office in Ostro\u0142\u0119ka.<\/li>\n<li>Jan S\u0142omiak \u2013 Mayor of the Town and Commune of Kos\u00f3w Lacki together with Secretary Daniela Prokopiuk and Councilor Ewa Arciechowska.<\/li>\n<li>Bo\u017cena Kordek \u2013 Mayor of Ma\u0142kinia G\u00f3rna<\/li>\n<li>The village council of Prosty\u0144 headed by Ms. Barbara D\u0119biec and Barbara M\u0142ynarczyk.<\/li>\n<li>Zbigniew Siemko \u2013 Regional Commander of Regional Command of Railway Security Guard in Warsaw.<\/li>\n<li>Maciej W\u00f3jcicki, Deputy Forest Inspector of the Soko\u0142\u00f3w District.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>And representative of:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Joanna Gierczy\u0144ska \u2013 Director of the Pawiak Prison Museum.<\/li>\n<li>Ma\u0142gorzata Iwa\u0144ska \u2013 Director of the Municipal Public Library in Soko\u0142\u00f3w Podlaski.<\/li>\n<li>Katarzyna Szczudli\u0144ska \u2013 teacher, consultant in the field of Polish language, Warsaw Centre for Education and Social Innovations and Trainings.<\/li>\n<li>Lisa Kuli School no. 3 with Marta Chodorowska.<\/li>\n<li>Cardinal Stefan Wyszy\u0144ski Primary School in Kie\u0142czew headed by Director, Andrzej Kono\u015b and standards.<\/li>\n<li>Fryderyk Chopin Primary School no. 2 in Ma\u0142kinia G\u00f3rna together with the flagship handed over by the Home Army of the &#8220;Opocznik&#8221; district.<\/li>\n<li>Jan Twardowski Primary School in Glin headed by Director Justyna Brzozowska with teachers and standards.<\/li>\n<li>School Complex in Kos\u00f3w Lacki with standards headed by Director, Hann Przesmyck.<\/li>\n<li>Salesians School Complex in Soko\u0142\u00f3w Podlaski headed by Fr. Arturem Roguskim.<\/li>\n<li>Cardinal Stefan Wyszy\u0144ski Primary School in Kos\u00f3w Lacki with standard headed by Director Agnieszka Ajdys and teachers.<\/li>\n<li>C Sk\u0142odowska Primary School no. 1 in Ma\u0142kinia G\u00f3rna with standards.<\/li>\n<li>Korczak Primary School and Kindergarten in Urle with standard headed by Director Aniela Dobosiewicz.<\/li>\n<li>Staszic School Complex in Ma\u0142kinia G\u00f3rna with standards headed by Director Agnieszka Ga\u015b and Wojciech Hada\u0142a.<\/li>\n<li>John Paul II District School Complex in Prosty\u0144 and teachers.<\/li>\n<li>Janusz Korczak Primary School no. 2 in \u0141och\u00f3w with standard headed by Director Renata Jaczewska.<\/li>\n<li>Janusz Korczak Primary School in Jasienica with standards.<\/li>\n<li>Primary School in Orle.<\/li>\n<li>Janusz Korczak Scout Group in Soko\u0142\u00f3w Podlaski headed by S\u0142awomir Pasik<\/li>\n<li>Treblinka Museum Council headed by Prof. Zofia Chyra-Rolicz.<\/li>\n<li>Artur Rogowski from Jan Bosko Parish in Soko\u0142\u00f3w Podlaski.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The &#8220;Women in the Treblinka I Penal Labor Camp&#8221; exhibition was also presented during the ceremony for the first time. The exhibition consists of 10 boards with a brief history of the Treblinka I Labour Camp and its topography. The important part of the exhibition are biographies of female prisoners and their memories from the camp. The author and curator of the exhibition is Anna Remiszewska, who is also the author of the exhibition catalogue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ceremony was inaugurated by a musical performance by Witold Radomski, a resident of Kos\u00f3w Lacki, a physical education teacher at the Primary School in Kos\u00f3w Lacki, a social and cultural activist. Witold Radmoski has been cooperating with the Treblinka Museum for several years, providing the musical performances for the ceremonies, which are usually based on poems related to the subject of the Holocaust and Treblinka. The guests listened to the four songs:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The first song is based on the poem \u201cGo and visit Treblinka\u201d, which was written after Halina\u2019s return from Poland in September 1986. The poem was originally written in Hebrew. Halina mostly writes her poems in Polish and then translates them into Hebrew.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The next song included the text of the camp song. The text was donated to the Treblinka Museum by Krystyna Grabowska, a former prisoner of the Labour Camp. Prisoners were punished with whips for singing this song. During the ceremony the song was performed by Witold Radomski and Ilona Fla\u017cy\u0144ska.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another song was \u201cBaga\u017c\u201d (Luggage), which was written by Bo\u017cena W\u0119grzynek, a teacher from Wilga near Garwolin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The last one was \u201cModlitwa o Wschodzie S\u0142o\u0144ca\u201d (Prayer at sunrise) \u2013 \u00a0a poem by Natan Tenenbaum, as well as a song with music composed by Przemys\u0142aw Gintrowski. It was performed by the trio: Kaczmarski-Gintrowski-\u0141api\u0144ski. It became &#8220;the anthem of Good in times of contempt.&#8221; and it was an informal anthem of &#8220;Solidarity&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During official ceremony, wreaths were laid and candles were lit at the monument commemorating the Victims of the former Labour Camp. On such an important day, the management of the Treblinka Museum also paid tribute to the victims of the former Treblinka II Death Camp by laying flowers at the central monument.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The winners of the poetry competition entitled &#8220;Memory of the Holocaust Written in Poems&#8221;.\u00a0 were also present at the ceremony. The management of the Treblinka Museum awarded the following participants:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Wies\u0142awa Kwiek, who took the second place with a poem entitled \u201cCzterna\u015bcie lat\u201d (Fourteen years)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Monika Szast, who took the 3rd place with a poem entitled: \u201cApogeum-niecz\u0142owiecze\u0144stwa\u201d (The apogee of non-humanity)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Andrzej Wi\u015bniewski, who gained a distinction with a poem entitled \u201c 19 sierpnia w Otwocku (August 19 in Otwock)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hubert Wycech, who took the third place with a poem entitled \u201cPiek\u0142o na ziemi\u201d (Hell on Earth)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Director of the Museum warmly thanked all the gathered participants, especially: Fr. J\u00f3zef Poskrobko, the Poviat Police Headquarters in Soko\u0142\u00f3w Podlaski, the State Fire Brigade Headquarters in Soko\u0142\u00f3w Podlaski, the Volunteer Fire Brigade from Kos\u00f3w Lacki, the Independent Public Healthcare Institution RM-MEDITRANS from Soko\u0142\u00f3w Podlaski and the Soldiers from 22 of the Military Cartographic Center in Komor\u00f3w and the Janusz Korczak Scout Troop from the ZHP Soko\u0142\u00f3w Podlaski for displaying the guard of honor.
